Yerrisery

Ingredients
Sweet Pumkin - 200 gms
Jeera - 1/2 teaspoon
Coconut(dessicated) - 100 gms
Urad dhall - 1 teaspoon
Red Chilli - 5
Thur Dhall - 1 cup
Coconut Oil - as required
kadi patta - 10 leaves
Salt - to taste.

 

Method:

  1. Cook the thur dhall well with pinch of turmeric and set aside.
  2. Boil the pumkin till done.(make sure it does'nt over cook).
  3. Grind 75gms of coconut,jeera,red chilli into find smooth paste.(Can u pumkin stock for your grinding)
  4. Now add the thur dhall & mix well,then add the ground paste and salt and mix every thing and allow the whole thing to stand on low flame for about 10 mins.
  5. Last step is seasoning.. season it with mustard seeds,urad dhall and lastly add the kadi patta.
  6. Finally in dry kadai,roast the left over coconut till it turns brown and add it to Yerissery.
  7. It goes will with rice and as side dish it can be taken with avakkai pickles or any raita.
  8. (Optional) before serving u can put one table spoon of coconut oil and that add flavour.
