Tasty Chicken Korma
Ingredients
Chicken - 1 kg ( usually one whole chicken) skinless
Onions - 1 and half big onion sliced
Tomatoes - 2
green chillies - 2
1 cup coriander leaves chopped
1/4 cup mint leaves
chilly powder - 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
yougurt - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1/2 cup
Whole spices 1 each of cardamon,cinnamon and cloves
Ginger - 3 teaspoons, ground
Garlic - 2 teaspoons, ground
Coconut milk - 3 teaspoons (available in cans)
Salt to taste
Method:
- First wash and drain chicken.
- Pour oil and add the whole spices then add the sliced inions and frytill golden brown.
- Add ground garlic and fry for a minute or so. Then add the chicken and fryfor 3 mins.
- Then add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger paste and powders andfry again for few mins.
- Then add the yogurt, chopped coriander, mint and salt and let boil.
- As soon as it starts to boil, stir well, reduce heat , cover and letcook on low heat for about 25 mins.
- Then add coconut milk, cover and let simmer again for another 5 - 10 mins.
- Tastes very good with naan, parathas or rice.
- Note: People who prefer more spicy taste can add more chilly powder andchillies.
