Andhra Pesarattu

Ingredients
1. Grated coconut ... 1 cup
2. Grated Mango ... 1 cup
3. Green chillies ... 6
4. Oil ... to fry
5. Curry leaves ... 1 stalk
6. Mustard ... 1 tsp
7. Urad dhal ... 2 tsp
8. Asafoetida powder... 1 tsp
9. Salt ... to taste.

 

Method:

  1. 1. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard.
  2. After it splatters, add urad dhal; and
  3. After urad dhal turns brown in colour
  4. Add the grated mango, and then green chillies (If the mango is very sour, you can extra two chillies) cut in lengthwise.
  5. After it is saute, add asafoetida powder and saute for some time.
  6. Add the grated coconut, curry leaves, and the required salt and saute for another 5 more minutes.
  7. Take it off from the stove and allow it to cool.
  8. Then grind it in a mixie. This will be a very good side dish for iddlies, dosa and can even be mixed with rice and taken as mango bath.
