I'm Ratna from Auburn Hills,MI,USA.Here is one of my favourite recipe carrot rasam.It is nutritious & healthy.Like all other south indian rasam this can be eaten as soup or can be mixed with rice.

Carrot Rasam

Ingredients
Carrot:2
Toor dhal:1/2 cup
Onion:1
Tomato:1
Jeera:1/2 tsp
Pepper whole:1/4 tsp
Coriander seeds:1/2 tsp
Dry redchilli:3
Sugar:1/4 tsp
Tamrind little
salt

 

Method:

  1. Pressure cook all the above ingredients with water.
  2. Omit salt while pressure cooking.Cook on flame for about 4 whistles.
  3. After coolong blend it water in a mixie & add sufficient water & salt.
  4. Take a pan add oil & when it is hot add all seasoning items,curry leaf,minced garlic pods(3),asefodita a pinch.
  5. Then add the blened carrot rasam(mixture) to the seasoning & let it heat for 5 min.
  6. Don't boil it.Garnish with cilantro.
  7. Enjoy this as appetizer(soup) or with rice.Enjoy cooking.
