Andhra Pesarattu

Ingredients
1. Green gram (whole) ... 1 cup
2. Green gra,m (broken) ... 1/4 cup
3. Raw rice ... 2 tablespoonful
4. Onion -- chopped nicely ... 1 no.
5. Green chillies ... 5 nos.
6. Ginger ... 1/2" long
7. Salt ... 1 tsp
8. Oil ... to fry.

For Dressing :
1. Finely chopped onion ... 3/4 cup
2. Finely chopped green chillies ... to taste
3. Cummin seeds (Jeera) ... 1/2 tsp

 

Method:

  1. Wash the dhals and rice well and soak them in water for 4 hours.
  2. Add onion, green chillies, and ginger while grinding the above in a grinder. Add salt at the end, after the batter is ground.
  3. Take a little oil in a kadai, heat it and add the cummin seeds, chopped green chillies, finely chopped onion ad saute for 1 minute and take it off from the stove and keep it aside.
  4. Heat the tawa (frying pan) and add one ladle of the batter and spread it evenly and thin.
  5. Sprinkle a little chopped onions.
  6. Make dosa after adding the oil tothe edges and after it it is made, fold it and serve hot.
