Green Peas, Masala Dhal

Ingredients
1. Mysore Dhal ... 1 cup
2. Green Peas ... 1 cup
3. Tomatoes ... 2 nos
4. Big onion ... 2 "
5. Oil ... to fry
6. Ghee ... 2 tablespoons
7. Cummin seeds ... 1 tsp
8. Red chilly powder ... 1 tsp
9. Coriander seed powder ... 1 tsp
10. Ginger ... 1" piece
11. Garlic ... 3 flakes
12. Salt ... to taste
13. Garam masala powder ... 1 tsp

 

Method:

  1. Cook the dhal well and keep aside.
  2. For Masala: Grind the garlic, ginger, dhaniya (coriander seed) powder, red chilly powder, garam masala powder with a little water in a mixie and keep aside
  3. Heat Oil in a kadai, add cummin seeds and then chopped onion and saute
  4. Add cut tomatoes, a little salt, 2 tsp ghee and saute.
  5. Add the ground masala (item No,2) and saute till the raw smell of the garlic goes off.
  6. Finally add the required salt, green peas, dhal, and 2 tsp ghee and mix them
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
