Goanneese Potatoes

Ingredients
Potatoes -- cut into big pieces ... 2 nos
Onion -- big -- cut ... 1 no
Grated coconut ... 1/2 cup
Ghee ... 2 tablespoonfuls
Garlic ... 5 flakes
Green peas ... 1 cup
Cinnamon ... small piece
Cloves ... 2 nos
Coriander seeds ... 2 teaspoonful
Pepper ... 1 tsp
Poppy seeds (khas khas) ... 1/2 tsp
Salt ... to taste
Tomatoe puree ... 1 cup
Red dry chillies ... 5 nos.

 

Method:

  1. Heat a little ghee in a kadai, add coriander seeds, pepper, poppy seeds, red chillies, cinnamon, cloves and fry.
  2. Fry coconut separately without oil and keep aside.
  3. Heat ghee in a kadai, saute onions and add the tomatoe puree, and salt aagain saute.
  4. Add the cooked green peas and the water in which it is cooked (boiled) and the potatoes and enough water as per the need and bring it to boil till the potatoes are cooked well.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves.
