Bisibela Bhat

Ingredients
Bisibelabath powder:
Red chilly- 1 cup
Coriander seeds- little more than one cup.
channa dhal- 3/4th cup
Koparai grated in large quantity
Black pepper- hand full

 

Method:

  1. Fry the above ingredients in 1/2 teaspoon oil and grind into powder and store.
  2. Making of bisibela bath:
  3. Pressure cook 1 cup of thur dhal to one whistle and set side.
  4. To this add 1.5 cups of rice with turmeric and bit of ghee and cook as u do it for pongal.
  5. Use veggies of your choice and boil the same in tamarind water. (Lemon size tamarind ball).
  6. When the veggies are cooked well,add 2 to 3 table spoon of the powder and allow that mixture boil for 10mins. In this stage add salt.
  7. Now add the rice and mix well. For the tadka: In ghee add mustard and lot curry leaves.
  8. Lastly if u wish could add piece of jaggery.
